SIROCCO I am going to knit you all night long.

THIS IS MY SIROCCO

Sirocco was one of our early ram babies and a total sweetie.

We have a photo of him giving me kisses that still makes me smile. He was kind of like Ferdinand the Bull, who loved to smell the flowers.

If you watched him closely, you’d see him doing things atypical for sheep in general and ram-lambs in particular.

He was also the first merino to leave our farm.

That being a difficult, but necessary decision, given that one can have too much of a good thing, like too many sheep on limited acreage, we were thrilled when the owner of Sandy Pines Farm in Napanee came to see our sheep, fell in love with Sirocco, and, before Robert could say ‘no’, Sirocco was being loaded into the back of a station wagon for the four-hour drive to his new, forever-home, where he’s buried and where Sandy Pines Farm has morphed into the Sandy Pines Wildlife Centre - offering the highest standard wildlife rescue and rehabilitation!

100% superwashed merino yarn, DK weight, in a 244 metre (267 yard) skein weighing 110 grams (3.75 ounces)
