I think, in Newfie-speak, this translates to 'I am the person'.  Years ago, I attended a party where I was the only non-Newfoundlander.  I barely understood a word spoken.  Plus, it seems that folk from Newfoundland, when together, think that everyone should speak at the same time, and it seemed they could all do that and listen in on all the other conversations going on, and even interject in those conversations while carrying on the one with me and . . . well, I was totally amazed, enthralled.
